February 16, 2022 By Adam Hill

StockX was mostly known as an online third-party reseller of wearables like clothing, sneakers, watches, and other accessories. But at the end of 2020, it also started offering electronic products such as gaming peripherals, computer hardware, laptops, etc. Because it’s a third-party seller, many people are concerned about the StockX return policy. Does StockX Accept Returns?

The short answer is No. Regardless of what you buy from StockX, you’ll not have the option to return, exchange or swap it. This also applies to the purchase of a wrong size item. There is no StockX return policy in place that could help you with returns. However, there are a few ways that would definitely help you get your money back.

We’ll explain these soon. First, let’s see why refunds and exchanges are not possible with StockX.

Why StockX Doesn’t Allow Returns or Exchanges?

Once you buy from StockX, it’s yours to keep. You may sure think, why is this the case? The answer is simple. This is due to the unpredictive and constantly changing nature of their live market. StockX doesn’t actually own or sell any items themselves. They are just providing a platform for other people to buy and sell. Now, this doesn’t mean that StockX is not in play through any of this. –

When you buy something, the item first goes to Stockx, who then inspects it for genuineness before sending it to the buyer. This verification service is not free. It is covered under the processing fee you pay for packaging and handling.

But what does all this mean?

People are constantly bidding to buy something while people who want to sell may change the price according to how hard or easy the item is to get and how many pieces are available. That’s why the value of an item changes from time to time. Sometimes in a matter of minutes. With all this, the StockX return policy cannot exist as it may create a whole new chapter of dealing with returns when sellers are most likely not happy with it.

How To Get Your Money Back From StockX?

The StockX return policy page mentions two possible options if you don’t want to keep the item no matter what.

  1. One is to resell it to StockX at their own bidding price. There are chances that you can get more or less than what you paid initially. This depends on your luck and also the market situation of your item.
  2. The second is in case you are an EU or UK resident, you can use your right of withdrawal from the sale. You can go to their official Help center page to put up a cancellation request for your purchase. Once StockX receives your request, their support team will contact you generally within 24 hours.

Remember –

Once you receive your item, the right of withdrawal ends 14 days after the beginning of withdrawal. If you don’t understand, suppose you received your item on 1st July 2022. The withdrawal period starts on 2nd July 2022 and ends on 16th July 2022.

Also, even if your return gets accepted due to your right of withdrawal, the StockX return policy only covers returns for items in the same condition you got them in, along with the StockX verification tag sticker attached. StockX has the right to refuse late returns and items that are not in their original condition.

What We Have Learned?

Now you surely understand how StockX works. They don’t have a StockX return policy in place to help you with returns and exchanges because of the constant changes in pricing that are unpredictable. The pricing variation on StockX has less to do with StockX itself and more to do with the availability of a specific item and how easy or hard is to get it. StockX only provides a forum for people to sell some specific categories of items with the promise of genuineness to buyers.
